Homestead Animals: The Basics
May 18, 1 - 3 pm
Have you ever dreamed of a backyard barnyard?
Wondered what it takes to raise and grow healthy, happy animals for milk and meat? This is the class for you! We will visit with the various animals on the farm and talk in depth about the needs and special considerations of each animal. Learn how Weed Dance Farm has created a healthy ecosystem in which the animals, people and plants work and dance in unity towards our goal of living in a sustainable community.
Animals we will focus on will include goats, chickens, ducks, and pigs. We will explore their nutrition needs, as well as their need to live a life in the sunshine and wild outdoors, as well as the concept of shared milk. You will leave with solid understanding of the basics of keeping barnyard animals. Handouts, herbal infusions, and snack will be provided.
