Our family is going through many changes this year due to job loss....because of this we are taking the opportunity to travel and do a lot of camping. These are the things we have not been able to do together as a family for the past many years as we have always milked twice a day! We are also using the summer to gear up as we transition to a three season  CSA farm and market growing. There is a lot of work to be done and a greenhouse to put up! Because of these changes, my class offering this year will be very light. I am available however, on a freelance basis, to teach classes in a wide variety of homesteading skills, from soapmaking to lactofermentation to bread making and cheesemaking, among other classes in herbal medicine. Feel free to contact me if you want to set up a class and we can talk topics and rates.

A Six Month Herbal Course to follow
the Seasons
Sundays, 1 - 3:30 pm, April 25, May 16, June 13, July 18, August 15, September 19, 2010

This class will meet once a month for six months starting in April and ending in September. This class is for beginners to herbal medicine and wildcrafting as well as returning students. We will meet as a group and spend a lot of time outdoors identifying wild and cultivated herbs and craft these herbs into medicines we can take home for our families medicine chest. The class will be informal, and highly interactive and focus on the core of herbal medicine: building relationship with the green world around us. We will craft medicinal oils, salves, syrups, teas and tinctures and students will also receive and discuss the basic philosophy and practice of the Wise Woman Tradition, a healing tradition as old as time, a framework for entering into a sacred healing relationship with oneself as well as the green abundance surrounding us.

Cost for the six classes is $95 and  includes all materials except containers. Students will be advised to purchase mason jars upon registration. Class size is limited and your registration form must be mailed in by April 18. Print the registration form to mail in here.

Important registration information:

The class must be paid in full a week before the class is scheduled in order to hold your place.  A minimum of six students is needed to proceed with class, and full refunds and class cancellation notices will be sent out a week prior to class if the minimum class size is not met.
