About Carolyn Koebel

Carolyn Koebel has been involved with percussion and drumming for over 20 years.  She has spent the past decade exploring global percussion strategies and synthesizing a host of rhythmic concepts.  Her studies span the Western classical tradition, Brazilian samba, West African drumming and dance, Afro-Cuban percussion/jazz, Middle Eastern/North African/Arabic drumming practices, classical Indian, Japanese taiko, Celtic practices, Italian ritual drumming, and the quest continues....

Carolyn performs with many different local ensembles, including Blue Dahlia, Fonnmhor, Skintones, Orga-stick BioRhythms, and Rhonda Larson and Ventus.  She also offers workshops and private instruction, and leads/participates in other community drumming events.
